Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) - Pressed Earrings #3
These earrings contain two small specimens of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), pressed and preserved in glass-like panes of clear resin.
Wormwood, characterized by it's deeply earthy smell and velvety silver leaves, is perhaps best known as the main ingredient in the hallucinogenic alcoholic beverage "absinthe", aka "The Green Fairy". However, in larger doses, it is also known as a powerful poisonous herb.
The specimens have been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin. The earring hooks are stainless steel.
Each earring measures 50mm by 21mm, or roughly 2" by 1". These earrings are one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
